Why present a poster?

A poster puts your work in front of the people who can use it, in a setting where real conversations happen.

Be seen

Reach researchers, companies and policymakers who are in the same hall.

Get expert feedback

Talk through your methods and results with specialists from across the eight tracks.

Find collaborators

Learn where your work meets real demand and who can help take it further.

Win recognition

Every poster presented in person is considered for the two Best Poster Awards.

Best Poster Awards

Two Best Poster Awards will be given to posters presented in person. The review committee will select the winners after evaluating all selected posters presented at the conference.

Write your abstract

A good abstract is short and structured. Cover these five parts and a reviewer can understand your work in a minute.

  1. BackgroundWhy the problem matters, in one or two sentences.
  2. AimWhat your work set out to do.
  3. MethodHow you did it, kept short and clear.
  4. ResultsThe main findings, with numbers where you can.
  5. ConclusionWhat your findings mean for recycling and the circular economy.

Tips for a strong abstract

  • State one clear aim, not several
  • Include at least one concrete result, with a number if possible
  • Avoid abbreviations that you do not explain
  • Add three to five keywords that match your track
  • Ask a colleague outside your field to read it

The abstract template and word limit will be announced on this page.

Good to know

One idea per poster

A focused poster is easier to remember and easier to judge.

Real-world link

Say who could use your result: a plant, a city, a company or a policy.

Work in progress is welcome

Early results are fine if the aim and method are clear.

Team posters

List all authors and name the one who will present in person.

Students

Early-career researchers are encouraged to apply and are judged on the same criteria.

Presenting in person

Awards are open to posters presented in person at Santa Clara.

The poster session

Beyond the poster session

Your poster is the start of the conversation, not the end of it.

Meet the speakers

Continue the discussion with keynote and session speakers during the networking breaks.

Build your network

Exchange contacts with researchers, industry teams and startups from across the recycling chain.

Explore the programme

Attend the three days of sessions and see where your work fits in the wider field.
